A bonnet guard is a shaped and moulded protective shield which is fixed to the front of the bonnet in order to prevent damage to the paintwork from road debris, such as stone chips, bugs and grit. Obviously, this area is vulnerable to such damage whether it is driven on or off road, or both, so a bonnet guard is a cost effective and wise investment for 4x4 and pickup owners. In addition to preventing future damage, they will disguise any existing scuffs and enhance the personality of the vehicle.
A bonnet guard is generally made from tinted UV stabilised automotive hard-wearing acrylic, shaped to the contours of each vehicle for a close fit. They are rigid but there is a very slight gap between the guard and the paintwork, to allow airflow, and they are attached using existing holes underneath the bonnet itself.
